A complete Roland S-330 package

Promise = Promise

A short time ago I discovered a Roland S-330 on a second hand site, named Marktplaats. (it’s Dutch! 😉 I had a nice conversation with the seller who told me that the disk drive was almost broken. He kept his S-330 for some weeks to create .wav files of all his samples before sending it to me. Before he sent the S-330 to me I promised to him to post something on my site, so here you go!

S-330 & more

When the package arrived I was stunned. Sometimes you have the luck to receive something without asking for it. Well, I knew it would would contain the Director-S Software (SYS-333 + Dongle) and some diskettes with samples, but this was more than amazing. Besides the Roland S-330 Sampler I received an almost impeccable Director-S package with scratch free disks + stickers and almost brand new manuals. Ah…and two shoe boxes full of diskettes with samples. Happy me!

I can use a lot of words to explain what I received but pictures do say more than a 1000 words. So here they come!

Now I have to wait for the cold and long winter nights, although here in Spain….Anyway, I can’t wait to try out the software. And instead of placing a Gotek USB I will leave the floppy drive intact to load those two shoe boxes full of diskettes.

Happy happy, joy joy. I’m like a child 🙂

Have a good one!

Best regards,

Roger Mooze

      Hi!
I’ve posted a picture of the manual regarding the use of the dongle.
The dongle only has to be used when you need commands like ‘Format’, ‘Save Song’, ‘Save Sys’ etc.
This means you have to detach the mouse and attach the dongle when the system asks for it.
In your case (dongleless software) the system is overruled by a fake dongle-program-ish thingy.
Only if you’re into very old school way of working, the dongle is necessary.

I hope I’ve answered your question.

      Best regards,
      Rogier

    Hi Roger

How do you find the s330?
The annoying thing I find about it is having to use the utility disc every time you sample.
On the s50 this is not necessary, someone told me there is a system disc for the s330 that combines everything on the single disc.
    Do you know of this?

    Regards
    Mark
I’ve never been able to find this
